Cultural Change – Maybe It’s Not So Traumatic After All

by Valerie Arraj on January 29, 2009

In every organization there are people for whom change is as appealing as a root canal.  But I also have found that in environments where conservativism is a way of life, change is wildly appealing to a fair number of people.  Sometimes lack of change leads to complacency that all but eliminates any hope of evolutionary improvement.  In this environment entreprenurial minds in the organization stagnate and become frustrated unless they are empowered to explore new ideas.  Much of what we do with the establishment or improvement of IT process involves change, and, although cultural sensitivity is key, there are times when  ”shaking things up” allows the organization, led by the entreprenuers, to wake up from the institutionalized coma and reenergize.  With right direction these organizational awakenings can lead to improvements in service and overall productivity.  What’s your propensity to “shake things up”?  The following link proports to gauge your tolerance for change…and so much more…http://similarminds.com/global-adv.html
